Part 2: Chris Eubank

Back in 1996, Eubank made a memorable appearance as a guest presenter on Top of the Pops. Fast forward to 1999, he not only launched the Dreamcast but also made a cameo in the music video for "Turn Around" by Phats & Small, where he showcased his truck. Eubank's charisma extended to the airwaves as well, with his own show called Eubank's People on Talk Radio, featuring notable guests like Linford Christie, John Fashanu, Lennox Lewis, and Naseem Hamed.

The year 2001 marked Eubank's entry into the world of reality television, as he became a contestant on Channel 4’s inaugural series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Unfortunately, he became the first celebrity to be evicted from the house.

Eubank's intriguing life also caught the attention of renowned documentarian Louis Theroux, who created a documentary titled When Louis Met...Chris Eubank in 2002. The documentary followed Eubank's journey, with Theroux and his camera crew accompanying him for a period. Additionally, in 2003, the Eubanks allowed television cameras to document their lives for nine months, resulting in the broadcast of At Home with the Eubanks on Five.

A heartwarming friendship blossomed between Eubank and Michael Watson during Watson's recovery from a near-fatal injury sustained during their 1991 bout. In a remarkable show of support, Eubank joined Watson for the final mile of the 2003 London Marathon, which Watson completed despite the physical damage from the fight and taking over six days, all in the name of charity.

In 2006, Eubank faced an unexpected setback when his own public relations advisor, Richard Hillgrove, dismissed him due to his perceived eccentricity.

Eubank's adventurous spirit led him to participate in the 2015 series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. He endured for 17 days before finishing in 9th position.

The Eubank legacy continued in 2019 when Eubank and his son, Chris Eubank Jr., appeared on the first series of Celebrity Gogglebox. Their entertaining presence prompted a return in Series 3 in 2021.

Eubank's magnetic personality earned him an invitation to be a guest on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2021, where Eubank's unique and captivating charm held the audience spellbound, and drew them into his eccentric and charismatic persona.

In April 2023, he took on a thrilling challenge as a contestant on the Channel 4 reality TV show, Scared of the Dark, showcasing his bravery in the face of fear.

Bankruptcy

In November 2009, Eubank was declared bankrupt, owing £1.3 million in taxes.

Anti-war activism

Eubank's encounters with the police were quite eventful. In 2003, he was stopped by the authorities while driving around Parliament Square, displaying a message criticising Tony Blair's military occupation and its connection to terrorism. Despite being intercepted, he managed to complete several laps before being apprehended.

In 2007, Eubank found himself in trouble again when he was arrested near Horse Guards Parade for a suspected breach of the peace. This time, his truck carried a banner condemning Tony Blair for sending Prince Harry to Iraq. The message on the truck emphasised the disastrous nature of the war and questioned its legitimacy.

Eubank's activism continued as he parked his seven-ton truck outside Downing Street in May 2007, resulting in charges of an unlawful anti-war protest. However, he failed to appear in court later that year, leading to an arrest warrant and a subsequent fine. Despite the legal consequences, Eubank's determination to voice his opposition to the war remained unwavering.
