Remembering Lynden

The Windrush generation has left an indelible mark on our society, embodying a spirit of unwavering determination in the pursuit of justice, equality, and acceptance. Their resilience, forged through countless challenges and obstacles, has been passed down to the generations of black youngsters. These individuals, inspired by the legacy of their predecessors, have embraced new opportunities and opened doors through their hard work and unwavering perseverance, despite also facing prejudice and discrimination. Their success serves as a testament to the power of resilience and the ability to overcome adversity.

However, the fight for justice and equality is not limited to external battles. Sometimes, the greatest challenges we face are the ones that manifest within our own bodies. Diseases do not discriminate, affecting individuals from all walks of life. In the midst of the cacophony of noise, hostility, and division that surrounds us, it is important to remember and honour those like Lynden, who valiantly fought against their illnesses but tragically lost their lives at a young age.
