Trevor Ricardo Nelson, MBE, a prominent English DJ and presenter, was born on 7 January 1964 in the London Borough of Hackney. Coming from a family with St Lucian heritage, Nelson's upbringing was rich in cultural diversity. He received his education at Central Foundation Boys' Grammar School and Westminster Kingsway College, where he honed his skills and passion for music.

Hailing from Wandsworth, South London, Lynden Hall's talent was recognised early on when he received the "best newcomer" award at the prestigious 1998 MOBO Awards. This was just the beginning of a promising career that would see him become the first UK artist to be voted "Best Male Artist" by the readers of Britain's Blues & Soul magazine in 1999.
